  • Notify me when email arrives:  If you select this option, your mobile phone will notify you when you receive a new email message.
  • Sync contacts from this account:  If you select this option, your contacts will be synchronized between your phone and your account.

In order to protect employee and Tudor Place data and information, users who wish to use a mail application on their mobile devices to access Tudor Place email are restricted to using the OWA app or Android Mail app; additionally, the devices must be password-protected and encrypted.

If you have any questions about this process, please contact Museum Administration.

Please note if/ when users would like to revert back to their previous (less secure) phone settings, users will have to completely uninstall the email application or remove all tudorplace.org mailbox from their phone.

For most users, complying with these security requirements will be a two-step process: Adding a Password and Encrypting the Phone.

Step 1. Adding a Password

Users who have installed or are installing the OWA application on their device and do not have password protection and/or encryption will receive a notification like the one pictured at left.  (Android and iOS phones will appear slightly different than what is pictured.)

Users can follow the prompts on their device to activate password, PIN, or fingerprint protection.

Step 2. Phone Encryption

After adding protection, the device may need to be encrypted; users will receive message like the one pictured at right.

Users must follow the prompts on the phone to complete the encryption process.  Encryption times will vary depending on the amount of data on the device hard drive (average times are between 15-45 minutes).

*It is recommended that users plug their devices into a charger because running out of battery during the encryption process could result in complete crash and loss of data.
